A Touch of Myth Overviews

From every part of the ancient world, these stories try to explain the mysteries of the where, why, and when. This is the search of man for himself, looking at the horizon, seeing what is always there: leading, following, falling, rising, never reachable.

From "Seal Island" to "The Aztec," these stories will delight the reader. What is a rainbow? Why does a jackal laugh? Where did music come from? Who is the earth eater? Is there a Dreamtime? In our world of reality, this is fascinating reading.

A Touch of Myth CustomerReview

A book of short fables, A Touch of Myth gives a reader the gift of beautiful fantasies, clothed in lyrical language - illuminating new meanings to life, history, and the origins of humankind.

Stories learned from family and culture shape our lives - become truths - myths of the strongest sort. Only through new parables, fables and stories, may we develop a "different way of seeing, of believing."

Jean Forray has given us the opportunity to be charmed by wonderful, touching stories, and in the process, we just might expand our horizons.

The Rough Guide to the Lake District 4 (Rough Guide Travel Guides) CustomerReview

I used this book extensively both in preparing for a week spent in the Lake District. It proved to be very detailed and accurate, as well as very up-to-date as regards prices / website addresses, etc. I have been to the area several times in the past, and this guide really brought back all the memories and had me chomping at the bit to return. While there, I used it constantly, and not once did it provide any inaccurate information. A good guide book is essential for any trip - and this is one of the best I have ever used.

Discovering Spain: An Uncommon Guide (New, Updated Edition) CustomerReview

This is the definitive guide to Spain. When Carol and I travel in Spain, we're three--the two of us and Penelope. We've been living in Spain since 1992 (the date of the first edition) and we've never traveled in this wonderful country without her. Her asides on history are worth the price of admission, her recommendations on where to eat and stay are invaribly reliable (although she could use some up-dating here and there in the countryside) and her take on places to see and what to do are a genuine menu of Spanish delights. If it matters, this is the preferred guide book of the American Embassy staff.
